Today was extremely helpful for me as I had no idea what a blog or a wiki was. The first session helped me to understand what was what and therefore help me to choose what i wanted to focus on.

I feel that using a blog this term is going to enhance the unit that my class is doing . The HSIE Unit is Who Will Buy, which I have found for the last few years is quite boring. I am hoping to get the children to either do a video or audio of an interview with someone who owns and runs a local business in Corrimal.

I then want the children to go in and post comments discussing the children's interviews and make suggestions as to how they could be improved and how we as the viewers have perceived them. After each child has gone through the comments from the class they will then re interview their small business and try and improve on their first interview.

My name is Angela Boyd-Skinner and I am teaching at St Columbkilles School, Corrimal. I teach Stage 2, Year 3 and have done for the last three years.

I work very closely with my grade partner and we try to integrate as much technology as we can. This term we have designed a reserch project which is based around our HSIE unit Australia You're Standing In It. The tasks involve the children to log onto myclasses, to find information on Australia Icons, landmarks and recipes. So far the children have been very engaged in the research project. They are all very confident at logging on to the internet, and accessing both the links from myclasses as well as information from other search engines.

I have had no professional development in ICLT and am looking forward to becoming a little more competent. I feel quite confident using myclasses, imovie and the ilife suite, but am extremely keen to learn more about blogs, wikis, podcasting and animation. Next term we will be studying the units Who Will Buy? for HSIE and Minibeasts in Science and Tech. I am hoping that one of the modules that I do during this course, will be able to enhance these units for the children. find me at st johns dapto primary class 6b.
